FYI, from office of Councilmember Liccardo.[for more info, contact Fred Buzo, cc'd above]~Larry*************************Hello all,
The tragedy in Japan is going to require a lot of help and support over a long period of time. There has been a lot of interest to help in some way. Various groups in Japantown are trying to organize donation drives or fund raisers. In order to help launch some of these events, the JCCsj is going to help host a virgil on this Thursday evening and will be requesting donations to help with what is going on in Japan . If you can help in any way to spread the word about this event, please do so as quickly as possible.
This Thursday evening, the Japantown Community Congress of San Jose will host a vigil and fund drive for the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan .
Vigil for Victims of the Tsunami in Japan
March 17th 6pm to 6:30pm
In front of the San Jose Buddhist Temple
640 North 5th Street
San Jose, CA 95112
Donations will be collected at the event.
Checks should be made to JCCsj with "Tsunami Earthquake Relief" in the memo.
100% of donations will go directly to relief efforts.
We hope you can attend and also help in distributing this information.
